Purpose or Die! 4 Alarming Truths about Your Purpose
Did you know that most people today die without ever fulfilling their purpose and life goals? That’s a pretty alarming fact, but what makes it even more concerning is the fact that the purposeful life is what God requires from all Mankind! Living a purposeful life for the Lord Jesus Christ is something that we should be taking more seriously. Therefore, below are 4 alarming truths about your purpose in Christ and why you should be making it a priority today.
Your Why is His Will, Not Yours (Isaiah 43:7 NKJV)
XXXTentacion, a late rapper, once said in a video, “You make your own purpose”. Unfortunately, this is not true. Often times, we mistakenly think that we can be in control of our own destiny. We think that we could give ourselves purpose, so we choose where we want to live, how we want to live, who we want to marry, where we want to work, so on and so forth. However, in doing this we inadvertently reject God’s purpose, which is our true purpose, for our lives, thus becoming our own gods in the process. FYI, this is wrong. When God made you, it was for HIS glory. This means your life exists only to glorify Him. All your decisions, actions, thoughts, and gifts were given to you for this sole reason. He’ll never alter or change this purpose for your selfish interest. He is the creator and driver of your life, and your why is His will.
You Were Not Saved to Sit On Your Purpose, but to Stand! (Acts 26:16 NKJV)
When God saved you by having His Son, Jesus Christ, die on the cross for our sins, it wasn’t so that you could remain stagnant in the status quo. The Lord actually saved you so that you could live purposefully in Him. A great example of this is shown through Apostle Paul’s life. When Jesus met and saved Him on the road to Damascus, it was to make Him a minister who would go on to deliver Jews and Gentiles from the power of Satan so that they could be saved. He saved Paul’s life and gave him purpose to go out and save others, thus bringing glory to God through his life. Therefore, Jesus didn’t save you just to sit down and wait, He saved you for action!
You were saved to live purposefully.
You Will Perish for Your Lack of Pursuit (Luke 14:34-35; Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV)
When automobiles are built and manufactured, they’re done so for people to drive them. Once they stop functioning as they’re supposed to, they’re then taken to the junkyard to be smashed and destroyed. Similarly, when God created you, He did so for a reason. He created you for His glory, therefore your life should bring glory to His name. There isn’t really any other option. If you continually decide to live your life in a way that contradicts your true purpose(His glory), then His wrath will abide on you.
Others Will Suffer for Your Lack of Pursuit (Genesis 50:20 NKJV)
As important as your godly purpose is to your own life, it is also important to the lives of many others as well. This is because God wants to use your purpose to save other people, similarly to what He did through Paul’s life. For example, God used Joseph to save people of Egypt from famine. As a dream interpreter, God was able to use him to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams of warning so that they could prepare the famine beforehand, thus saving many lives. Just imagine what would have happened if Joseph decided to reject his true purpose. Millions would have died, and he would’ve been responsible. Therefore your inaction can have grave consequences.
Your purpose is important to God. It’s for this reason that it should be made priority. There are people today who are currently suffering, who desperately need to experience what God placed inside of you. Answer the call, live in your purpose, and God bless.
